Volunteer Literacy Project A revolutionary approach to the adult literacy crisis Evidencebased structured phonics in a complete package that is easy for volunteer tutors to use. This is the first adult literacy program Ive been part of that actually taught us how to teach reading. VLP tutor Our mission is simple. We teach adults to read by training volunteers and then matching the volunteers to students.
