Porch Talks are back! Don't miss our first talk of the season. The African American Heritage Society is excited to welcome Nick German. Nick is a descendant of not one but two Williamson County pioneer families, whose roots have been traced back to 1850 and beyond, the David McLemore family and the Maria Smith/Davis family. Both families have been honored by the African American Heritage Society at their annual black tie event. Nick is a 2023 graduate of Centre College, in Danville, KY.majoring in Economics and Finance. Nick’s discussion and talk will center on his college senior project, which details and shows an analysis and data specifically pertaining to the wealth gap between races in the United States specifically with a focus on African African wealth patterns that have lead to a significant decline in wealth over time and the reasons for the decline. His analysis and project will help fine tune why the gap is as big as it is today which will give us a better insight into what we can do over the coming months and years to fix it.
