River Oaks Breakfast Club River Oaks Breakfast Club Home Our club was conceptualized as a purely social organization by John Young and the first meeting was held at the Sheraton Lincoln Hotel in February 1968. Butch Pratka and John Young invited five friends to the original meeting and the organization was named the Diversified Business Mens Club. The meetings were quickly moved to the River Oaks Country Club and at that time the name was changed to The River Oaks Breakfast Club. The club gradually grew from the original membership of eight men to its limit of 95active members and in recent years there has been a continuous waiting list of applications.
