The virtual MA Women's History Center provides a new collection of exhibits, articles and biographies, with its flagship program: the MA Women's Hall of Fame! A nonprofit organization dedicated to telling the inclusive stories of the suffragists and sharing information about the important contributions of and challenges endured by Massachusetts women historically and today. WE WORK TO ENGAGE THE PUBLIC ABOUT AND IN THE FIGHT FOR EQUITABLE RIGHTS OF ALL WOMEN AND MARGINALIZED POPULATIONS IN THE COMMONWEALTH OF MASSACHUSETTS HISTORICALLY AND TODAY. THROUGH EDUCATION, THE ARTS, EVENTS AND CONVENINGS, OUR GOAL IS TO INSPIRE GREATER CIVIC PARTICIPATION TO SECURE EQUITY AND EQUALITY FOR ALL.

Happy birthday, Kittie Knox (1874-1900), the first African American to be accepted into the League of American Wheelmen (LAW) in 1893. Born to a white mother and Black father in Cambridgeport, when her father died at a young age, her impoverished family moved to the West End where she became a seamstress, and began her cycling interest and skills. She excelled at races in MA, and travelled to compete nationally.
