EMM is a volunteer outreach organization that promotes community involvement around important issues that lead to positive change and progress. The Corporation's main purposes are to seek mindful stewardship of Western Maryland's social, economic, and natural environment; to make possible the socioeconomic advancement of its citizens; and to ensure the future stability of its unique environmental heritage. Also to engage and educate citizens and elected officials by informed discussions of issues critical to the health and well-being of the social, economic, and natural environment of Western Maryland.Engage Mountain Maryland primarily serves Garrett and Allegany Counties of Maryland, but also serves residents who own vacation rental properties and second homes in Garrett County. The rural region is a getaway that offers outdoor recreation for all four seasons that sees visitors and part-time residents from Maryland, Washington, D.C.,Virginia, Pennsylvania, and West Virginia primarily.
