Did you know that Meals on Wheels Yolo County counts "celebrities" amongst our volunteer meal delivery drivers? 🤩😎 Yes, some lucky Winters seniors receive their MOW Yolo meals thanks to a knock on their doors by Winters, CA City Councilmember Carol Scianna! 🤛🚪🥣 Serving the community has been a way of life for Carol for the 45 years she's called Winters home, and her volunteer role with MOW Yolo is one of many she's performed for numerous worthy organizations, leading her to be named the 2003 Winters Citizen of the Year. Of the relationship to older adults in Winters that MOW Yolo uniquely provides to Carol, she says: "Volunteering with MOW Yolo reinforces the importance of connecting with seniors who may not have other opportunities to socialize. This is a wonderful opportunity to help out folks on a one-to-one basis. And it's a commitment of only a hour or so, once a week (or even less frequently)." You don't have to be an elected official to be a celebrity serving seniors!
