We’ve been finishing up the school year doing programs with local fourth graders. We partnered with idahopower to present The Magic of the Magic Valley to explore our water and irrigation. Students learned some history and built an irrigation project. For their project, they worked in groups to move water from one cup into two separate cups using straws, tubes, cardboard, clay, and tape. Students tested their project to see if it worked and the water flowed. They then fixed problem areas and tested it again. In the past few weeks we hit schools in Twin Falls, Jerome, and Hagerman. Students LOVED this project! They used creativity and trial and error to get their projects working. Special thanks to the Olive S. Browning Charitable Trust for funding this program. (fb)
