The Peace Centers is a 501(c)3 tax exempt charitable and educational organization. All donations are tax exempt. The Center for the New Humanity, dba The Peace Center is a nonsectarian, nonprofit educational institution. Our mission is to amplify peace everywhere! We do this through educating people of all ages on the power of the intentional application of collective intelligence. Our primary strategy is organizing and licensing community groups in collective meditation for peace. We also use the arts and special programs to train facilitators to lead groups and build community to amplify peace. Additionally, we teach related skills for peaceful living in our workshops and as upon request. In the past, these have included nonviolent communications, conflict resolution, positive thinking, yoga, relaxation, etc. Some of these classes such as our conflict resolution classes have been conducted via Skype to students all over the US and even beyond the US borders. We base our work on dozens of scientific studies that show a multiplier effect on physical and mental realities when two or more people set a common intention for peace. These studies show that over the long term, that these consciousness-based initiatives are more effective than political maneuverings, increased police presence, stricter penalties and prison sentences, and other such measures for keeping the peace. The Center for the New Humanity dba The Peace Center formerly operated a brick and mortar facility in Berwyn's historic Depot District. Currently, it operates as a virtual organization, renting physical facilities as needed. Its first IRS 501(c)3 ruling was as a religious organization and as such, no financial documents were required to be filed. In 2015, The Center filed for and received a redetermination of its status as an educational institution from the IRS. Income listed above is an estimate only.
