From medical miracle to musical prodigy, 15-year-old Mark is the definition of strength. When he was 4 years old, Mark’s life hung in the balance. He was critically ill with sepsis, and his heart and lungs were failing. Supported by an ECMO machine to pump and re-oxygenate his blood, and the expert and compassionate care at Children’s Wisconsin, Mark defied every odd. Today, Mark is a musical powerhouse. He writes his own music and is in five different school bands. He was the youngest student in Wisconsin to win an Exemplary Award at the state’s Solo and Ensemble competition!
