Austin Kendo Doshikai Welcome What is Kendo. Kendo literally means Way of the Sword in Japanese and is steeped in the culture and way of the samurai bushido. Kendo is a way to discipline the human character through the application of the principles of the katana sword. Austin Kendo Doshikai AKD was established in 1986 by Sensei Tetsuo Komizu kendo Kyoshi 7dan.
