We are a local non-profit organization fighting illiteracy for children in the Detroit tri-county area one day at a time Our mission is to empower, mentor, and inspire, children from single parent homes. To irradicate poverty, overcome functional illiteracy, stabilize financial equity in housing, and mobilize equal learning globally. Single Family Living mission is to empower, mentor, and inspire children from single parent homes; irradicating poverty, overcoming functional illiteracy, stabilizing financial equity in housing, and mobilizing equal learning globally. Our future goal is to expand our assistance beyond the Detroit Tri-County (Oakland, Wayne, Macomb, and now Genesee County) area to the entire state of Michigan. Currently, we are not able to do this due to a lack of resources and volunteers. Like, many non-profit organizations majority of the money is through donations provided by our supporters. Supporters and members are the foundation of our organization. We appreciate all the support, whether big or small, you are willing to provide.
