Vulcan, the world's largest cast iron statue, sits atop Red Mountain in Birmingham, AL & is considered one of the most memorable works of civic art in the U.S. Vulcan Park and Museum is Birmingham's front porch welcoming visitors and members of the community to come and learn about the city's fascinating history and visit Vulcan, the world’s largest cast iron statue! To preserve and promote Vulcan as the symbol for the Birmingham region, to advance knowledge and understanding of Birmingham’s history and culture, and to encourage exploration of the region.
