Overview

Kitchen Table Advisors (KTA) is a nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting the long-term economic viability of small sustainable farmers and ranchers in Northern and Central California. Founded in 2013, KTA became an independent 501(c)(3) organization in 2024. The organization's mission is to foster a more equitable and resilient farmer and rancher-led food system by providing practical business advising and building trusted relationships.

Programs

Kitchen Table Advisors operates through two primary programs:

• 1:1, Bilingual Business Advising Program: This program offers personalized support to farmers and ranchers, addressing their unique business needs. The program is notable for its bilingual delivery, making it accessible to a diverse range of producers.

• Ecosystem Building Program: This initiative goes beyond individual support by incubating collaborative projects. It focuses on removing barriers related to land, capital, and markets, which are essential for small-scale farmers to thrive. This program promotes collective solutions to systemic challenges faced by these producers.

Notable members include Javier Cruz of Cruz Martinez Farm and Esperanza Pallana, who leads Wildseeds Fund.
