Our mission is to provide food, hope and encouragement to help nourish the hungry and food insecure i To coordinate the acquisition and distribution of food and basic essentials to the hungry and the needy through our network of non-profit, service agencies that provide directly for the needs of the hungry and the poor of our community. We also serve as the regional distribution site for USDA commodities. We also operate a Kids Cafe program. We are a part of Feeding America, and have operated in Gainesville since 1987.

Bread of The Mighty Food Bank Bread of the Mighty Food Bank is celebrating 37 years of serving the community. We collect sort store and distribute donated food and basic essentials to over 200 nonprofit agency partners such as food pantries and feeding programs. Our dedicated team hits the road five days a week to collect donated food from generous retailers and wholesalers. This valuable food is then redistributed back into the community addressing hunger and supporting those in need throughout Alachua Gilchrist Levy and Union counties.
