It was established with the goal of creating a community center that provides essential services such as free meals, mentorship, and goodwill item donations.

Mission

The mission of Good Karma Los Angeles Org is to deliver aid where it is most needed. The organization has developed a mobile food delivery service using a food truck named Karma to distribute hot meals across Los Angeles, especially during nighttime when local food banks and shelters are closed. This initiative aims to reach the unhoused population when they need support the most.

Services

For over four and a half years, Good Karma Los Angeles Org has been providing significant support to the community:

• Hot Meals and Beverages: The organization has distributed over 130,000 hot meals and 130,000 water bottles.
• Essential Supplies: Monthly distributions include 300 meals, 300 water bottles, 300 Liquid IV hydration packets, as well as care kits, pet food, and toys. They also offer new socks, tents, blankets, and tarps for those in need.
• Reading Materials: The organization provides reading materials for both adults and children.

Community Engagement

Good Karma Los Angeles Org engages with the local community by involving volunteers in various activities, including meal preparation and distribution. The organization also collaborates with other entities to enhance its impact and adapt to emerging community needs.

Founders and Inspiration

The organization's founding is inspired by the vision of creating a supportive community center, reflecting the dream of its founder's family. Initially, the goal was to establish an orphanage in India, but the project began in Los Angeles. The founder, Vishal Narayan, purchased a used food truck to initiate the feeding program for the homeless.

Future Goals

While Good Karma Los Angeles Org continues to expand its services with its mobile kitchen and food delivery, it aspires to build a permanent community center. This center will host additional programs such as child mentorship, community garden construction, and assistance for first responders.
