National Kidney Donation Organization
The National Kidney Donation Organization (NKDO) is devoted to helping end the kidney crisis in the United States. Founded in 2017, NKDO is the largest donor advocacy organization in the country. We educate and advocate for living kidney donation to increase the number of living kidney transplants in the US. We mentor prospective living kidney donors to donate as safely and effectively as possible, helping to remove barriers and dispel myths about living donation. In 2024, NKDO’s living donor mentors will help facilitate over 1,000 living kidney donations. Donor candidates who connect with our mentors are 5.7x more likely to donate a kidney than those without a mentor.
