Home - Hearts of Gold Police Family Outreach Foundation Hearts of Gold Police Family Outreach Foundation Our Story In 2008 a Tucson Police Department members child was diagnosed with a terminal illness and employees began collecting donations to assist the family. They quickly realized that there had to be a better way to provide financial assistance to Department members in these situations. This was the beginning of Hearts of Gold. For the next 11 years the program operated with the full support and under the umbrella of a larger nonprofit organization.
