United Friends forms consistent, long-lasting relationships with every foster youth we serve. We prepare foster youth for life beyond foster care by giving them the confidence, tools, and opportunities they need to lead independent, fulfilled lives. United Friends of the Children empowers current and former foster youth on their journey to self-sufficiency through service-enriched education and housing programs, advocacy, and consistent relationships with a community of people who care.

📣 Legislation Update: A Promising Foster Care Reform Now Faces Delay California’s new tiered rate structure was designed to give foster youth the individualized support they deserve, funding things like mental health care, enrichment activities, and stable housing based on each youth’s needs. But in the latest state budget revision, this long-awaited change is now on hold. The state has made it conditional on future funding, meaning foster youth could be left waiting.
