It’s with heavy hearts we share the news of the passing of our sweet Camy. After she relapsed a few months ago we made her an honorary junior board member, and those that came to our office saw her picture gracing our wells. We all fell in love with her sweet personality, always a shining light at our Summer Bash, a self proclaimed lover of slime. Please keep her family in your hearts as they navigate a path no family should ever take. I know Liv was there to welcome you and show you the ropes. I’m so mad that I have to share another child taken too soon. We need to do better, this should not be the norm. Cam, we will honor you always, just as we do for Liv and all our other angels. (fb)

It’s impossible to believe you have been gone for two years. When Liv was first diagnosed, I felt so alone, like I was thrown onto an island with no one else in sight. I was learning a new language of mutations and tumor types, researching trials, alone in the darkness of the unknown. I turned to Facebook groups hoping to find someone to turn to. In my search I saw a video of a young woman running on a treadmill, she had a similar spinal cord tumor then Liv and had endured the same kind of aggressive surgery. Her name was Megan Sporny, she became an inspiration for Liv and her rehab. Meg’s mom Karen plus another Mom Lissa became a light for me. We formed a tribe to help each other through the unimaginable journey of our children’s illnesses. They became family that I still have never met in person, but I love them. First, we lost Liv, then Lissa’s son Ryder a few months later. And two years ago we lost Megan. Meg was the inspiration our #Megastrong 5k. At such a young age she showed determination, grit, and always found a way to honor her friends Liv and Ryder, even wearing a ring with their initials on it. That was Meg, love and goodness and a light for all of those around her. Megan’s picture hangs on my office door, she is a constant inspiration to do more, fight harder, work harder.
