Mariposa Butterfly Festival
Our mission is three-fold: 1. To purchase and distribute over 5,500 butterfly larvae to local schools and home schools in the Mariposa area for science education, allowing the children to see up close the miracle of life as it unfolds. We also provide the larvae to Children’s Hospital in Madera and the local Girl Scout troops to help the members earn badges. 2. To organize the Mariposa Butterfly Festival each May where the grown butterflies are distributed for our guest to see up close and enjoy. 3. To inform the importance of the butterflies to our ecosystem and teach how to improve and sustain their habitat.
