Area and focus are open as long as the candidate can teach an introduction to human evolution and other courses from a justice-centered biocultural perspective. The successful candidate will be encouraged develop interesting new courses rather than teaching the same human osteology course (or whatever) every semester. There are opportunities for interdisciplinary collaborations, teaching abroad anywhere in the world (January term or summer) or leading semesters abroad in France, the UK, Mexico, Ghana, or Ecuador, and professional development around teaching. The teaching load is 3-3 and classes are capped at 30, with most courses being less than that in Anthropology, so faculty also have time to pursue research, often in collaboration with undergrads. We are especially interested in hiring someone who can help us engage with and reflect an increasingly diverse student body.
