Winston Churchill IB PTO
San Juan Unified School District serves the students and residents of Citrus Heights, Orangevale, Fair Oaks, Carmichael, Arden-Arcade, Gold River, and portions of Sacramento with programs for everyone from infants through adult learners. The aim of the International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (IBMYP) is to awaken the intelligence of students, and to teach them to recognize the relationship between school subjects and global issues. The Winston Churchill IB PTO mission directs, supports and advocates for our program and school. The IB PTO organization funds a large percentage of the teacher training that is required by the Global IB Organization. We also support our teachers year-round by offering mini-grants for projects that enhance the IB experience. We work with the school on upgrading the technology available to teachers and students.

From ELD to electives: Ziba’s journey to reclassification 🎉 When Arcade Middle School seventh grader Ziba Gul Samimi heard her name announced as the newest student reclassified from English Language Development (ELD) to Fluent English Proficient, she couldn’t stop smiling. 🙌 After years of dedication, Ziba’s hard work paid off. Now she’s joining mainstream classes and is especially excited to take art alongside her sister.
