Meet LPC’s 1st Vice President Jennifer Shike from Sadorus, Illinois: • Editor and brand leader of Farm Journal’s PORK. • LPC member for 25 years serving her 4th term on the LPC Board. • Forrest Bassford Award Winner (’99). • LPC Secretary-Treasurer (’22-’23) and 2nd Vice President (’23-24). • LPC Education Co-Chair leading Coffee and Collaboration with Angie Denton. • Past LPC Workhorse Award Recipient • Loves public speaking, helping coach the county 4-H livestock judging team, leading Bible study and cheering on the Illini. Jennifer’s husband, Dr. Dan Shike, is a professor at the University of Illinois in animal science. Their children are: Olivia, who attends Black Hawk College East Campus; Hunter, a high school student at Unity High School; and Harper, an elementary school student at Unity West Elementary. Their family loves showing livestock and being engaged in their church. As a mom, her favorite thing to do is cheer her kids on whether it’s on the wrestling mat, in a cross country race, on the soccer field or at an FFA contest. (fb)
