Close the Gap Inc
Close the Gap is a nonprofit tutorial program, helping kids to prepare for college. We began our work in 2012. Starting with students as young as eight, we have developed a curriculum that prepares them to do well on the SAT, as well as for success in the rigors of college work. For young students, we have created our own specialized vocabulary list. Our method features teaching advanced college-level vocabulary to young students. As our name implies, we help our students, many of whom come from modest backgrounds, to compete with more advantaged students. Along the way, our kids become more confident, more aware of how the school system works, and more thoughtful in meditating on their college futures. They also pick up pedagogical skills, and their self-images and love of learning
