THE MISSION OF THE JETS/JETTS, INC., AN UNPAID ALL-VOLUNTEER ORGANIZATION, IS TO CREATE AND MAINTAIN A PROGRAM OF AMATEUR SPORTS ACTIVITIES FOR THE YOUTH OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY, PROVIDE AN ENVIRONMENT TO TEACH THE FUNDAMENTALS OF TEAM SPORTS EMPHASIZING SPORTSMANSHIP, TEAM SPIRIT AND FAIR PLAY, PROMOTE ENJOYMENT IN PARTICIPATING IN THE SPORT, AND TO OFFER EACH CHILD THE OPPPORTUNITY TO DEVELOP TO THEIR OWN POTENTIAL.

Youth Basketball - Jets/Jetts Montebello JetsJetts Inc. is a Montebellobased youth basketball club that services the youth in the Montebello Monterey Park Whittier Hacienda Heights San Gabriel Valley and Southbay areas including Palos Verdes Torrance Gardena and Harbor City. JetsJetts was founded in 1956 by Sam Kobayashi and Tak Uyesugi of Montebello Plymouth Congregation Church to provide an avenue for the boys of the church to learn and play organized basketball. Boys now participate in the Community Youth Center CYC League and the girls participate in both the Japanese American Optimist JAO and the South East Youth Organization SEYO leagues.
