TASLA was founded in 1922 and incorporated in 1944. Our mission is to provide assistance and support through counseling, education, and other services including social casework to individuals and families in crisis due to mobility, homelessness or other disruptive circumstances in Greater Los Angeles. TASLA?s scope of services is based upon a social casework model, one that uses counseling and financial support as means to influence individuals to change their behavior. Assistance is directed toward the stabilization and enhanced functioning of the individual or family with a goal of family reunification, independent living or relocation. Stabilization is measured by obtaining housing--short-term, transitional living, independent living, and/or with a supportive family member--and viable employment to fulfill daily requirements for food and shelter.
