AIKAʻAU ʻAikaʻau, a lawaiʻa–fisherman, and a giant man whose name translates to mean “eat forty,” was known to be able to consume forty fish in one sitting. Although he had a huge appetite, he was very generous and often shared his catch. Molokaʻi is famous for the generosity that ʻAikaʻau was known for. *This image comes from the Southwestern mural panel of the Molokaʻinuiahina Mural Project made in 2016. DONATE HUI O KUAPMOLOKAI OUR MISSION Education is the kua or backbone of the Hui o Kuap mission. Hui o Kuap educates the local and global community about Native Hawaiian resource management and innovations through hands on experience in the fishponds or loko ia as well as through advocacy of native rights and issues. The organization has been instrumental in raising awareness about the need to care for our planet and food security in rural communities. It proudly continues to carry out that mission today.
