The Texas After Violence Project is a community-based archive and documentary project cultivating deeper understandings of the impacts of state-sanctioned violence on individuals, families, and communities. Our mission is to conduct responsible, inclusive, and ethical research, and to build an archive of stories and other materials that shift narrative power to marginalized and oppressed communities and promote restorative and transformative justice.

After Violence Project | WE ARE A COMMUNITYARCHIVE DOCUMENT ARCHIVE Community archives are critical to document preserve and share the endangered knowledge of communities targeted by the state for violence and erasure. Our After Violence Archive holds stories records audiovideo materials writings and reflections artworks cultural ephemera and other materials from communities impacted by police brutality mass incarceration and the death penalty. LEARN Share We listen experiment research and create critical resources to support safe ethical and effective communitybased documentation archiving and advocacy. We also advise archives museums schools universities foundations and other organizations and institutions in a range of areas related to documentation and archiving community programs administration and operations revenue generation and strategic planning.
