PHYSICIANS FOR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY INC
San Francisco Bay Physicians for Social Responsibility organizes health professionals to defend health and demand racial, social, and environmental justice. The San Francisco Bay Area Chapter of PSR, founded in 1979, was the first chapter to be organized in the country and remains one of the largest of the 60 US chapters, with over 1200 member health professionals. Guided by the expertise of medicine and public health, SF Bay Area Physicians for Social Responsibility works to protect human life from the gravest threats to health and survival. Consequently, we promote public policies that protect human health from the threats of nuclear war and other weapons of mass destruction, global environmental degradation, the epidemic of gun violence, and other social injustices in our society today.
