Serving Knoxville for 39 years. Our volunteer staff provides lunches and emergency food to the hungry, homeless, helpless, hopeless, and the homebound. Each week, we provide free sit-down meals in our dining room, deliver approximately 3000 meals per week to the elderly, disabled, and homebound, and provide free canned goods, produce, and other important food staples and supplies to anyone who is in need.The Love Kitchen provides all these services without any paid staff. Everyone at the organization is a volunteer so 100% of all money donated goes directly to helping people.The Love Kitchen is also 100% funded through private donations. No government grants or funds are solicited nor accepted by the organization. We strive to help our recipients break the multi-generational dependence on government handouts and to then accept them ourselves would be hypocritical and setting a bad example for those we are trying to help.

The Love Kitchen - The Love Kitchen Everybody is Gods Somebody Celebrating 35 Years of Love. It was 1984 when Helen Ashe first dreamed of creating a program to serve the needy of Knoxville. One day as she was watching a news broadcast she saw a story about a soup line operated by Church Street United Methodist Church in Knoxville TN. She knew then what her mission would be Help feed Gods children.
