The Eric Paredes Save A Life Foundation seeks to prevent Sudden Cardiac Death in teens through free heart screenings, AED placement and CPR/AED training. Eric Paredes Save A Life Foundation The Eric Paredes Save A Life Foundation is committed to preventing Sudden Cardiac Arrest (SCA) in young people through awareness, education and action. SCA is a leading cause of death under 25 and the number one killer of student athletes. These youth could've been saved with a simple ECG, but ECGs are not a part of annual physicals. Youth are screened to honor Eric Paredes, who lost his life at 15 to an undetected heart condition, and to protect other families from this tragedy. Our efforts reveal that 1 in 300 teens are at risk. Our objective is to identify cardiac anomalies that may lead to SCA, with the ultimate goal of standardizing cardiac screenings among youth, and to equip schools with AEDs plus CPR/AED training.
