Altrusa is a nonprofit international volunteer service organization founded in 1917 and classified as a service organization for business and professional women in 1918. Since its inception Altrusa has grown into a network of clubs that each serve their community. In 1935 Altrusa expanded its reach internationally and now serves countries around the world on a truly global scale.
