The Shivas Irons Society is a 501(c)3 nonprofit dedicated to furthering golf as a mindful pursuit and as a tool for personal growth and development. Providing opportunities for community, discovery and transformation through golf. shivas.org The SIS is dedicated to furthering the game of golf as a mindful pursuit and as a tool for personal growth and transformation. We are committed to promoting golf's value system, honoring the game's history and Scottish roots and celebrating its many beauties and virtues. We conduct conferences, clinics and local gatherings. We advocate respect for the environment, sponsor charitable activities and publish a unique art and literary journal which is an anthology of poetry, fiction, commentary, historical essays and fine art inspired by golf. Membership is open to all who support our vision and purpose. Our name honors Shivas Irons, the mystical golf professional who was introduced to us in Michael Murphy's classic novel, "Golf in the Kingdom."
