Our mission is to assure and enhance the quality of life for Deaf, Hard of Hearing and Speech Impaired individuals as well as promote and educate on Hearing Wellness. THE PRIMARY MISSION OF CITRUS HEARING IMPAIRED PROGRAM SERVICES OF CITRUS COUNTY IS TO ASSURE AND ENHANCE THE QUALITY OF LIFE FOR THE DEAF, HARD OF HEARING AND SPEECH IMPAIRED INDIVIDUALS OF CITRUS COUNTY, ASSURING THAT NO OPPORTUNITY BE DENIED TO ANYONE AS A RESULT OF HEARING OR SPEECH IMPAIRMENT, AND TO CONTINUE TO DEVELOP SERVICES AND PROGRAMS GEARED TOWARD ALLEVIATING COMMUNICATION BARRIERS.

Citrus Hearing Impaired Program Services Inc is a non-profit organization dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Speech Impaired individuals. The organization serves several counties in Florida, including Citrus, Marion, Alachua, Levy, Hernando, Lake, and Sumter.
Mission
The mission of Citrus Hearing Impaired Program Services Inc is to assure and enhance the quality of life for Deaf, Hard of Hearing, and Speech Impaired individuals by promoting and educating on hearing wellness.
Services
- Advocacy: Providing support and representation to deaf and hard of hearing individuals.
- FTRI Phone Program: A distribution center for free amplified phone programs through the Florida Telecommunication Relay Service.
- Information & Referral: Offering resources and referrals for related services.
- Interpreting Services: Providing certified skilled interpreters for various settings.
- Meeting Room Facilities: Available for use by the community.
- Pamphlets & Information: Distributing educational materials.
- Programs for Hearing Aids: Assistance with obtaining, screening, and repairing hearing aids, as well as other assistive devices.
- Sign Language Classes: Educational classes in sign language.
- Social Group Services: Organizing social events for the community.
- Risky Ears Program: An educational initiative aimed at school-age children, focusing on hearing wellness and the importance of protecting hearing in a digitally connected world.
