Orthodox Workers. martyrs and their blood are the seeds of the church Serving disenfranchised and marginalized, homeless and near homeless, unseen, unheard, unwanted. BUILDING A BIGGER TABLE Living a simple lifestyle in the community, serve the poor, and resist social injustice. Orthodox Workers live a simple lifestyle in the community, serve the poor, and resist social injustice. Most are grounded in the Gospel, prayer, and the Orthodox faith, although some houses may be interfaith. Many Orthodox Worker houses are dependencies of the Monastery of the Holy Martyrs. Income for Orthodox Worker houses can come from outside jobs held by members or by cottage industries developed by the community, but most houses survive on donations. Every Orthodox Worker house can use donations of money and/or specific items like food, clothing, for those we serve. Simply put, what we do is feed folks!
