To reduce income inequality by leveraging technology. Appropriate Development Technology, inc.(ADTinc) is a non-profit organization dedicated in bridging the technological divide by providing classes in basic to advanced computer skills. Adtinc serves one of the poorest area of Houston, Texas, Hiram Clarke- which is predominantly African-American, lacks adequate access to technology and training to participate in the new economy. Our primarily objective is to increase minority participation in science and technology by providing short and effective courses for adults and children in STEM related areas. We are also working as a catalyst to making the area a technology corridor by bringing government and private partnership as we continue to deliver our services to the area. We applying for a $50,000 grant to supplement the pay for our class instructors who are primarily volunteers. Over the last several years our instructors have taught 771 students through 46 classes ranging from Microsoft Office suite to Linux, Networking, Programming and more. With your assistance, we can reach more students.
