In 2022 alone 599 children aged 12 and under lost their lives and over 106000 were injured in car accidents . Alarmingly 35 of those who died were not properly buckled up. According to the study Car Seat Safety and Usage nearly half of children aged 10 and under who are injured or killed in car crashes were either unrestrained or prematurely using seat belts instead of appropriate car seats.
