Annual Labor Day weekend celebration of African American culture through art, food, music + more! #AACF2019 in Downtown Raleigh on 8/31 and 9/1 The premiere annual Labor Day Weekend Celebration of African American culture. The African American Cultural Festival of Raleigh and Wake County is an annual celebration of African American culture as expressed through art, music, food and community. Over the past seven Labor Day weekends, the two day festival has connected diverse people and families from across our region with local, national and international artists, performers, food vendors, area business owners, and our local media outlets. The festival has become Raleigh's premiere destination for teaching, sharing, and celebrating the distinctive folk and cultural traditions of African Americans here in North Carolina and from around the world.

The African American Cultural Festival of Raleigh & Wake County 2024 African American Cultural Festival A Look Back at Last Years Celebration The 2024 African American Cultural Festival was a resounding success celebrating community culture and creativity with vibrancy and spirit. The event kicked off with an enthusiastic opening procession at the Village Stage located at the Wake County Courthouse. Attendees eagerly gathered to witness and participate in the dynamic activities led by Paperhand Puppet Intervention. Participants experienced the art of giant puppetry while Baba McDaniel of the Haramabe Collective energized the crowd with captivating African dance sessions.
