American Friends of the British Museum, Inc. (AFBM) was established in 1989 as a U.S. not-for-profit organization. The principal activity of the AFBM is to raise awareness of the activities and collections of the British Museum among Americans in the U.S. and overseas. This will facilitate the achievement of the financial, custodial and collecting goals of the British Museum, one of the world's great museums
