Hi everyone. We had some technology problems at last Wednesday's special meeting. First, let me say we’re completely open to any method of delivering the broadcast that the County would agree to. However, this is a new issue. We may have to replace our streaming server. We are addressing it now. It’s important to understand that the broadcast is sent first from the County building to our studio, and then from the streaming server out to the public. Any previous issues that we’ve had occurred between the County building and our studio, not the streaming server. What’s happened in the past is the encoder suddenly can’t get out onto the internet. IT doesn’t know why; we don’t know why. Because of that, we now have a bonded cellular backup that we run alongside and switch to if those problems arise. The main point is if the internet out of the County building drops, it doesn’t matter what platform we’re going to - YouTube, Vimeo, whatever — it’s not going to get there. That’s why we invested in the bonded cellular system, which has never failed. Again, this is a new problem and if we have to purchase a new streaming server (it’s been running 24/7 for six years now), we will. (fb)
