-ZAC- I saw this post on another page and I am sharing it with the person's name redacted. Of note here was this terminology, "I read that the child has an "AMPUTATED" conscience and doesn't feel guilty for the horrid hateful behaviors spewed at the loving loyal parent..." I had not seen PA explained in this manner and it made sense. I also wonder after decades of PA separation....is guilt potentially a reason the kids don't reach out? Are they embarrassed for their role in PA? Do they want to reconcile and are just too confused (even as an adult) and are reluctant to take the first step? YOUR THOUGHTS? I study PA so I know it's NOT their fault they were brainwashed and in survival because of a sociopath. This adult child says he will agree to a contract so that the anger no longer comes out at me. That is progress. It doesn't mean he agrees with nor understands PA. I will meet with a therapist to put a contract together. I need some validation, in a contract, of what PA has done to our relationship or I feel at risk of continuing to be everyone's scapegoat (blamed that I talked about the past and our need for healing from trauma).
