Big thanks to everyone who came out to our May SACXS meeting last Wednesday! We had a fantastic turnout and some amazing additions to our group. *New Members Alert!* We had an awesome turnout and were excited to see to see new members who joined us this month! We’re thrilled to have you on board and can’t wait to see your plant-filled adventures unfold. *Michael Eason’s Fascinating Talk* One of the highlights of the meeting was learning about the creative ways plants disperse their seeds. From explosive seed pods to sticky seeds that hitch a ride on unsuspecting animals, nature never ceases to amaze! *Auction Frenzy!* Our plant auction was a huge success, with many great plants going to new homes. If you missed out this time, don’t worry – we’ll have more auctions in the future. Thanks to all our members who donated plants and helped make the auction a success! *Thanks Again!* To everyone who made this meeting so special, thank you for your enthusiasm, knowledge, and passion for plants. Particularly 'prickly' are the Corynopuntias, with areoles that have both glochids and spines, some of which are up to two inches long! A nice addition to a cactus garden, as long as you watch out for those spines! Thank you, Barbara, for this amazing series on Texas natives! (fb)
