The MAINE STATE SOCIETY has been a “home away from home” for Mainers living and working in the Washington, DC, metro area since 1884. The Maine State Society serves as a “home away from home” for Mainers living and working in the Washington, D.C. area. The purpose of the Maine State Society of Washington DC Foundation is to promote educational opportunities for Maine residents associated with the state. The Foundation will raise funds for and provide scholarship assistance to eligible students attending accredited four-year baccalaureate degree-granting educational institutions in the State of Maine

Maine State Society Of Washington DC Mt. Katahdin Maine State Society The MAINE STATE SOCIETY is a home away from home for Mainers living and working in the Washington DC metro area. In 1894 a band of displaced Mainers got together and organized the Maine State Association. The purpose of the group was to maintain a home away from home provide a little touch of Maine for Mainers in the national capital area keep alive a sense of roots and boost the image of the State of Maine.
