Sproul Ranch Inc
To meet the needs of deaf children outside of the classroom setting. These needs, as we have defined them, would include but are not limited to: social contact with peers; contact with the culture of the deaf community, and provide educational and recreational programs not available in most school settings. Our program agenda helps build self-esteem, independence, and social skills. The kamp is also aimed at strengthening family bonds by REQUIRING family members to be involved. We use sign language 100% of the time..so the kampers don't have to bring their "extra baggage (as one Mom stated), "the interpreter". We also have a "Staff-in-Training" Program for those kampers who show leadership, responsibility, and friendliness. They are "promoted" from kamper to SIT (a 2 year program). It has truly become "their" kamp!
