Meals for Unity is a grassroots nonprofit dedicated to reducing food insecurity among marginalized communities in the New York City area. Due to the increase in attacks on AAPI elderly, we're starting with serving 300+ meals to AAPI elders every month. Meals for Unity is a nonprofit organization whose mission is to uplift those in need through community and food. As a result of COVID-19, the AAPI community in NYC witnessed a surge in social disparities, including violence, poverty, and food insecurity. What started as a one-time event to feed and aid our neighbors has evolved into Meals for Unity. Our pillars are as follows: 1. Provide meals to vulnerable communities 2. Amplify & support local food businesses 3. Spread awareness & promote community action

Next meal distribution event March 29th Item added to your cart Uplifting those in need through community and food OUR MISSION Meals for Unity is a 501c3 nonprofit whose mission is to uplift those in need through community and food. The organization was founded in March 2021 in the wake of an increase in violence against the AAPI community. What started as a onetime meal distribution in Manhattans Chinatown quickly turned into a vision to tackle food insecurity and spread awareness of social inequalities faced by vulnerable communities in NYC. Our volunteer efforts and events have spanned 4 boroughs and we partner with local businesses restaurants and other nonprofits to lift up and nourish our communities together.
