Around 19 weeks into pregnancy, after an anatomy scan, Victoria was was told that Baby Atlas had a congenital heart defect and would need surgery immediately after birth. This meant at just a few days and weeks old, Atlas would be hooked up to many machines and cables. That didn't stop his mom from having special skin-to-skin physical contact with him that was crucial for his development.
