Meet Ariel! 🌟 Age: Approximately 1 year old Breed: Dachshund mix Weight: 16 pounds Ariel is a sweet, cuddly, and playful pup who’s looking for her forever home. Once she feels comfortable and safe, she’s full of love and energy! Ariel thrives on routine and will need a little decompression time to adjust to her new surroundings. She loves playing with plush toys (but keep an eye on her, she’s a chewer!) and Nylabones. Ariel is always ready for a fun game of chase in the backyard or some cuddle time with her favorite humans or doggy friends. Though she’s a little shy around new people and can be a bit barky at first, treats and patience will win her over. She warms up beautifully once she feels at ease. Ariel is house-trained and absolutely fantastic in her crate—quiet, calm, and content. She knows her name, and responds to commands like “come” and “kennel up.” She is playful and assertive with other dogs, especially when it comes to her toys and bones, but a proper introduction and some guidance will help her adjust. Ariel’s ideal home would have a doggy companion to help her gain confidence and keep her engaged and also a fenced in yard to keep this flight-risk pup safe. A medium-energy girl, Ariel enjoys her naps, especially in the morning—she’s definitely not a morning dog, so be prepared for some serious snuggle time before she’s ready to start the day. She’s also a licker, always ready to shower her favorite humans with affection. Ariel will need a calm, understanding family who can offer her a comfortable space to relax and settle in. A home with a crate for comfort and safety is a must, as she will get into mischief if left unattended. A good supply of toys will make her feel right at home.
