“English is the language of science, education and international communication.” – Ukraine’s Minister of Education and Science, Oksen Lisovyi, in Cambridge yesterday. Ukraine is partnering with Cambridge to accelerate English language learning across the country. Francesca Woodward, Managing Director for English at Cambridge University Press & Assessment, said: “We want to help strengthen Ukrainians’ connections with the wider world. Developing real-life English language skills can dramatically improve people’s prospects, and this initiative will create new opportunities for Ukrainians.” Representatives from Ukraine’s Ministry of Education and Science discussed closer collaboration on teacher training, ministry-level projects and Learning English with Cambridge exams, which are recognised by 25,000 organisations around the world.
