“The Columbia County Library selects, acquires, organizes, preserves, and maintains books and other materials of contemporary interest and permanent value to the collection and makes them available in print and electronic formats for the education, enjoyment, and intellectual needs of the citizens of the community. It preserves and maintains items that enhance unique areas of expertise in local history for genealogists and other researchers in a distinct collection. Through summer reading programs and early literacy activities it guides children and young adults toward a love of reading and learning. It offers activities for cultural enrichment for all ages via special events.”
