THROWBACK THURSDAY Nestled in a hill on Charles Page Boulevard just west of downtown sits Tulsa landmark The Cave House. It was designed by architect Daniel Eichenfeld and built in 1924 by oil-field geologist James Purzer and Joseph Koberling Sr., father of architect Joe Koberling Jr. Opening during prohibition, it served as Cave Garden Restaurant during the day and as a speakeasy at night. Since sealed off, a door behind the fireplace opened to a tunnel leading to a large, secret room. Current ownership offers tours by appointment so you can see the Tulsa attraction for yourself.
